Halloween-Inspired Tent Stake Bag

I’ve been looking for a new stake bag to replace my old one when I came across a spooky and fun bag from Hilltop packs. It’s the Vampire Killing Kit Tent Stake Bag. I’ve used Hilltop bags in the past and love their bear bag and rock throw kits, so I knew that I’d be getting good stuff.

The tent stake bag comes in several prints, including the Vampire Killing Kit, Groundhog, Steak Stake, and Don’t Lose Me varieties. I laughed out loud at each one, but the Vampire one really struck me in the heart. It comes in two sizes: an 8-inch Stubby Stake Sack and a 10-inch XL Stake Sack. I use MSR Groundhogs and Groundhog Minis, so I needed the XL bag. If you want this bag and need new stakes, Hilltop offers them here.

The Vampire Killing Kit tent stake bag is made from Challenge D50T, which is a tough and light fabric that’s cheaper than Dyneema, which is usually what these ultralight bags are made of. The 10-inch bag weighs only 0.3 ounces (8.75 grams). That’s pretty light. While it isn’t as light as my old stake bag (0.18 ounces), it’s much roomier and easier to get the stakes in and out of. That was a constant pain point for me when using my old bag; the shape made it hard to use. Sometimes a good old rectangle is better for some applications, such as holding tent stakes.

If you’re looking for a fun, Halloween-inspired bag that you’ll get a chuckle out of when you pull it from your pack then this is a good one to check out. You should just go see them anyway, because they are funny. You can get them directly from Hilltop Packs, which makes it products in the USA.
