Photography and Paddling Mix in My New Video
We may earn commissions if you shop through the links below. The other morning, I paddled out to a location that I’ve wanted to photograph at sunrise for a couple of years. I paddled about 20 to 30 minutes in the dark and landed under cloudy skies. I thought it was going to be a big bust. In the end, the clouds broke up and the sunrise was amazing! Pictures below. The video I made from the morning is a mix of paddling and photography. Most of my photography is landscape photography, but if I’m traveling by canoe or kayak I’ll put a canoe or kayak into the landscape. It’s a combination of the two activities that I love most. I really love it. It can also hook up to your phone via a wifi module or a direct connection so that you have a bigger screen to work with. If you get one, get a set of ND filters as well and the scroll wheel. The ND filters help control the shutter speed so that you get a shutter that’s double of your frame rate. That’s suppose to give you a nice cinematic look. The scroll wheel helps get silky smooth pans. I hope to do more videos like this, but so far this year, I’ve only managed to make two videos. Crossing my fingers to do more. I’m a photographer and not a videographer, so there’s a learning curve. I need to figure out how to get more interesting B-roll footage, and I need to learn how to get better at being on camera and knowing what to say. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the video and pictures. Let me know what you think in the comments.
